Our Town

Jose Jones Restaurant & Bar is located in the heart of Thirroul.  Thirroul is a beautiful beachside suburb of the city of Wollongong, Australia. Situated between Austinmer and Bulli, it is approximately a 15 minute drive north of Wollongong, and an hours drive south of Sydney. It is a small town nestled between the Pacific Ocean and the stunning Illawarra escarpment, and home to the famous surf camp – Australian Surf Tours

“Hungry after a bush walk and craving a steak a local recommended Jose Jones. Within minutes we were seated and presented with the menu and table water. The atmosphere was lively and the staff understand what good customer service is. My steak melted in the mouth but it was overshadowed by the freshness of the green vegetables which highlighted how much taste our food loses by the time it arrives on our plates in the city. I love food and cooking and have dined at hatted restaurants but I can truly say this was the best meal I’ve eaten.”
